With its fine bubbles, and notes of fresh lemon, Loopuyt Tonic water has a distinct, and sparkling freshness.
It's dry, bitter character (which works perfectly in a gin and tonic) comes from the use of Peruvian quinine from the bark of the Cinchona tree.
Did you know? Quinine which comes from the bark off the cinchona tree has been used for centuries to fight against malaria. In fact, during colonial times The British army in India gave their soldiers lemonade with quinine to avoid malaria. It is from this use that the name "Tonic Water" came into use.
