As a young man (only 19), George Monin started selling branded wines and spirits in 1912. He chose the slogan "Passion for quality" and this is the ethos behind the company to this day. A french company, it is still family owned, and it's now the third generation leading the business.
Created by melting sugar in water until it caramelises, Caramel is a rich, sweet dark brown colour. It's enjoyed the world over in various ways, in puddings, sweets, cakes and biscuits to name some of them.
With their dark amber syrup, Monin takes away all the work. It has an enticingly strong and deep aroma and the very specific burnt caramel flavour which is loved all over the world.
